A Chinese Huawei executive who was arrested in Canada a year ago has published an open letter detailing her life on bail and thanking supporters.
Meng Wanzhou - the chief financial officer and daughter of Huawei's founder - is fighting extradition to the US on charges of violating sanctions against Iran.
In her widely read letter, she said she had time to "read a book" and "complete an oil painting" while on bail.
Her arrest sparked a diplomatic row.
China has always said the charges against Ms Meng are politically motivated.
Shortly after her arrest, two Canadians were detained in China, but Beijing says the cases are not related to Ms Meng.
They are being held in a detention centre and are allowed only infrequent visits from consular staff. On Monday, Mr Kovrig's employer tweeted that he had yet to see a lawyer or his family.
In it, she thanked her supporters in Canada, saying the applause in the public gallery after the court granted her bail, 11 days into her detention, had "made her burst into tears".
As part of the bail conditions, Ms Meng was given an electronic tag, and a 23:00-06:00 curfew, but was allowed to travel around much of Vancouver.
"When I was in Shenzhen [in China], time used to pass by very quickly," Ms Meng wrote on Sunday night.
"I always felt like I was being stretched thin and that there was never enough time to get everything done."
Now, she wrote, time passes so slowly "I have enough time to read a book from cover to cover. I can take the time to discuss minutiae with my colleagues or to carefully complete an oil painting".
She also praised "the kindness of people here in Canada", and "the kindness of the correctional officers and inmates at the Alouette Correctional Center for Women" where she was detained.
Ms Meng is fighting extradition to the US, where she is wanted for a host of charges, including evading sanctions on Iran - something she and Huawei deny. Her case is due to be heard in January.
She made no comment on the allegations in the letter.
BBC Monitoring said the version of the letter posted on Huawei's social media channel had had more than 60 million views by Monday morning.
'The princess of Chinese tech'
News of Meng Wanzhou's arrest in 2018 broke just after China's president Xi Jinping and Donald Trump sat down to dinner in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the G20 summit, to thrash out trade war issues.
The two leaders came to an understanding and a truce was signed - but thousands of miles away in Canada, a new battle was just beginning.
Ms Meng's arrest was seen as a turning point in the US-China trade war; an illustration of how serious the Trump administration was about going after Huawei - particularly on issues like technology theft and violations of American law.
For China, Ms Meng's arrest was seen as an attack like no other. If Huawei is the crown jewel of Chinese tech, then Ms Meng is its princess.
Although Beijing denies it, the detention of the two Canadians Mr Kovrig and Mr Spavor was widely seen as punishment for taking sides - and a warning to other countries who might consider copying Canada's decision.
What is happening to Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig?
Michael Spavor (L) and Michael Kovrig have been held since December
The two Canadians were detained in December, shortly after Ms Weng was detained.
Their detention led to a diplomatic and trade row, with China blocking tens millions of dollars' worth of Canadian pork and vegetable oil exports.
They were formally arrested in May, and can be held for up to 13-and-a-half-months before charges are filed, the Canadian government says.
In September, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused China of "using arbitrary detention as a tool to achieve political goals".
And last month, Canada's new foreign affairs minister told his Chinese counterpart the two men's case was his "absolute priority".
"In particular, I expressed my concern and the concern of all Canadians regarding the conditions of their detention," Francois-Philippe Champagne said.
But China has rejected accusations of arbitrary detention, saying the two Canadians had "engaged in suspected activities endangering national security".
China's ambassador to Canada, Cong Peiwu, also accused Canada of "arbitrarily detaining [Meng Wanzhou], which violates her legitimate rights".
"These two cases they are very much different in nature," he said. "For those two Canadian citizens there is no arbitrary arrest at all."

Before a group of pension fund and money mangers, Kumar also defended his decision to pay $10 million to end a proxy contest earlier this year.
Kumar said the review was conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers under the direction of Computer Associates board member Walter Schuetze.
Kumar, who was speaking at a Council of Institutional Investors meeting in New York, said PwC "had found no accounting irregularities or violations of generally accepted accounting principles."
He said he believed the findings were submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Attorney's Office, who are investigating Computer Associates' bookkeeping.
The review covered the third and fourth quarters of the company's 1998 fiscal year. Critics contend the company inflated its financial results during that period to lift its stock price and trigger a $1 billion stock grant to Computer Associates' top three executives, including Kumar. The executives, who were sued by shareholders, later agreed to return some of the shares.
Kumar said the company was working toward improving its corporate governance practices, including naming a lead independent director, expensing stock options and instituting director term limits.
Pension fund representatives gathered at the meeting gave Kumar a nod for facing a somewhat hostile audience. Indeed, several investors grilled Kumar about his decision to pay Texas billionaire Sam Wyly to retreat from his proxy fight earlier this year.
"Do you agree with negotiating with terrorists?" asked Andrew Shapiro, president of Lawndale Capital Management, a San Francisco activist money manager. Shapiro said the company made itself vulnerable to any "gunslinging activist" looking for an easy $10 million.
Kumar remained unbowed, saying he believed his actions were in the best interests of shareholders. Among the reasons he cited were moves by Wyly in June to contact a number of large customers, prompting worries that the customers would hold up orders and cause Computer Associates to have a shortfall in fourth-quarter earnings. "I believe what he was going to do this year was a distraction," Kumar said.
Ted White, director of corporate governance at the California Public Employees' Retirement System, or Calpers, also questioned the board's decision to pay what many investors view as "greenmail" because ultimately, Wyly's agitation probably prompted many of the very changes that Kumar touted during Tuesday's meeting.
White said it should have been left to shareholders to either elect or reject Wyly's dissident slate of directors. "The precedent set is a bad one," White said. "The decision should be ours."
Wyly, whose bid to wrest control of the company was defeated by shareholders last year, launched another proxy battle this year. He promised not to launch another proxy contest for five years after settling the matter for $10 million in July.

Walmart WMT Inc. today removed the last obstacle standing between its associates and higher education.
The retail behemoth announced that it will pay 100% of tuition and books for its 1.5 million part-time and full-time Walmart and Sam’s Club associates in the U.S. through its Live Better U program, which previously charged employees $1 a day to participate.
The world’s largest retailer and private employer will invest $1 billion in its associates over the next five years, earmarking the money for career-driven training and development.
“Now, 1.5 million associates can earn college degrees and learn trade skills without the burden of education debt. We’re creating a path of opportunity for associates to grow and build better lives at Walmart,” said Lorraine Stomski, senior vice president of learning and leadership at Walmart. “This investment is another way they can support their associates to pursue their passion and purpose while removing the barriers that too often keep adult working learners from obtaining degrees.”
The Live Better U program was initially designed after consulting with experts, reviewing other employer provided education programs, and studying the research around what helps drive completion rates among adult working learners. That helped guide the initial $1 a day approach, but the economy and job market have changed, and Walmart is always looking for new ways to encourage more associates to pursue further education, the retailer said.
“We’re adding in-demand college degree and certificate options in business administration, supply chain and cybersecurity,” Stomski said. “These additional offerings join a robust catalog of programs to set associates up for new career opportunities. Our education offerings tie directly to their growth areas at Walmart, and what better way to fill the pipeline of future talent than with their own associates.”
Walmart willaddfour academic partners, including Johnson & Wales University, the University of Arizona, the University of Denver and Pathstream and expand to 60 programs. Existing partners include Brandman University, Penn Foster, Purdue University Global, Southern New Hampshire University, Wilmington University and Voxy EnGen. Each of the institutions were chosen for their history of success with adult and working learner programs as well as their focus on degree completion.
Since launching LBU in 2018, more than 52,000 associates have participated in the program and 8,000 have graduated. Nearly 28,000 associates have been active in an LBU program this summer.
Walmart in 2018 launched LBU with 50 programs at the cost of $1 a day for employees. In 2019, Walmart added to the program, with offerings in technology and health and wellness, and options for high school students. That year there were 12,000 associates enrolled in the programs, and 1,000 graduated.
Employees are now eligible on their first day of work rather than after 90 days. The program added skilled trade offerings. In June 2020, the program had more than 25,000 students and 3,500 graduates. LBU in 2021 introduced English language learning and more technology programs to keep up with business demand.
“Walmart is committed to eliminating the burden of education debt,” Stomski said. “Cost is a leading barrier for earning a degree with student loan debt in the U.S. topping $1.7 trillion.”
Rachel Carlson, CEO and cofounder of Guild Education, Walmart’s partner in developing higher learning programs, said, “Walmart is creating growth opportunities for their workforce and preparing them for the future of work.”
Carlson said that Guild looks at all 7,500 institutions of higher education and focuses on the ones with the highest completion rates for adult learning. “It starts with the business needs and understanding of in-demand jobs that align within the labor markets and opportunities within Walmart,” she said.
“We’re very much committed to growing career paths at Walmart,” Stomski said. Associates are at heart of their business. The education offerings are tied to the growth areas of Walmart and aligned to their business. They worked very closely with Guild to identify the right programs.”
“We’re thrilled to partner with Guild Education and Walmart in their mission to deliver Arizona’s world-class higher education programs to working adult learners in a flexible, engaging and highly effective way,” said University of Arizona president Dr. Robert C. Robbins, M.D. “We’re honored to be a part of the industry-leading Live Better U program at the nation’s largest private employer.”
“The University of Denver is passionately committed to working adult learners,” said Chancellor Dr. Jeremy Haefner. “Through this partnership with Walmart and Guild Education, approximately 1.5 million associates will now have access to Denver’s programs, completely funded by their employer. They are proud to be a part of this moment.”
