The Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka launched its New Syllabus, effective March 2012 at the Taj Samudra recently. Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala, President CMA in his address said he was pleased to announce the new CMA Examination Syllabus which will come into effect with the March 2012 examination. The consultants entrusted to revise the syllabus have ensured that the new syllabus has taken into account global developments and is in accordance with international standards. They have also met the needs of the business sector to produce quality Professional Accountants in Business.
The objective of the CMA Study Programme is to produce Management Accountants endowed with capabilities, competencies and a globalized-outlook required to meet the challenges in organizations both locally and globally. In an attempt to meet this objective in a dynamic business environment the CMA Study Programme is revised periodically in keeping with the global professional requirements in accounting. The revised CMA Study Programme-2012 consists of twenty two course units categorized as seventeen core courses, four skill courses and, at the apex, an integrative case study.
The core course units are clustered into three main streams: Management Accounting, Financial Accounting and Business Management giving prospective management accountants command in different aspects of accounting and business. The skill course units will instil and enhance requisite skills while facilitating mastery of core course units. The global-local outlook maintained throughout the study programme will develop a glocalized mind-set in them enabling them to work both locally and globally.
The revised CMA Study Programme-2012 carries significant improvements with respect to the focus of the study programme, its structure, organization of core and skill course units, vertical and horizontal linkages and contents of course units. It will undoubtedly facilitate the grooming of competent Management Accountants who are capable of crafting strategies and managing risk in pursuit of developing sustainable world-class organizations.
The Institute of Certified Management Accountants (CMA) of Sri Lanka was incorporated in April 2009 as the National Professional Management Accounting Institution in Sri Lanka by Parliament Act No.23 of 2009. CMA was set up in the year 2000 with Technical Assistance of CMA Canada. Since its inception, CMA Sri Lanka has grown to an Institute comprising over 12000 students and 2000 Members. CMA Sri Lanka promotes and develops the study of Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, strategic management and conducts the Certified Management Accounting Programme leading to a Professional Management Accounting qualification suited for the business sector.
CMA is incorporated under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Internal Trade, similar to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. CMA is a member of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) which includes the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and the Chartered and Management Accounting bodies of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal.
CMA was admitted as a member of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) in December 2009 and joins the fraternity of Professional Accounting bodies in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal. CMA also received the Associate Membership of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) in November 2010. IFAC consists of 125 countries and the membership comprised of 164 member bodies with a total membership of more than 2.5 million accountants in public practice, education, government service, industry and commerce.
CMA offers an affordable (1/10 the cost of foreign courses), flexible and easily achievable route to a professional qualification for A/L qualified students, undergraduates, graduates as well as those in employment. CTET 2024 test Date
CBSE has released the CTET 2024 notification on its website along with the complete schedule of the test on 3rd November 2023. Candidates can begin to apply for CTET test from 3rd November to 23rd November 2023. CTET full form is Central Teacher Eligibility Test. It is a national-level test that is organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education Delhi to appoint teachers in the government and private schools of the country.
The CTET test consists of two papers termed Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is held for those candidates who intend to teach the primary classes, i.e Class 1 to 5 white Paper 2 is for those who wish to teach classes 6 to 8. Candidates who qualify the CTET test get the CTET certificate that is valid for a lifetime.

CTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
All the candidates must ensure that they fulfil the CTET eligibility criteria to be able to apply for the exam. The eligibility consists of fulfilling the education qualification, age limit, etc. The educational qualifications for CTET primary stage and elementary stage are as follows.
CTET Qualification for Primary Stage - Classes I-V
Candidates should fulfil any one of the following qualifications to apply for CTET paper 1.
A candidate should have passed class 12th with at least 50% and hold 2 year diploma in elementary education degree.
A candidate should have passed class 12th or equivalent with at least 45% marks and have 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
A candidate should have passed class 12th or equivalent with at least 45% marks with 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education.
A candidate should have passed class 12th or equivalent with at least 45% marks with a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) can apply.
Candidates should have passed their graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education degree.
CTET Qualification for Elementary Stage - Classes VI to VIII
A candidate has to fulfill ANY ONE the following CTET qualification if he/she wishes to apply for being appointed as a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
Candidates who have completed their graduation and also hold 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education degree.
Candidates with a graduation degree and have scored at least 50% marks with 1-year Bachelor in Education.
Candidates with graduation with 45% minimum marks along with 1-year Bachelor in Education degree.
The candidates who cleared class 12th or equivalent test scoring at least 50% marks and have 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education degree.
The applicants with a pass in class 12th or equivalent test with 50% marks in minimum along with 4-year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed.
Candidates with graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education) degree.
Any candidate who has qualified B.Ed. The programme is recognized by the NCTE.
CTET Age Limit
Any candidate who is more than 21 years is eligible to apply for CTET exam. However, the upper age limit has not been prescribed for CTET exam.

The CBSE board has released the assessment criteria and guidelines in Hindi for Class 10 and Class 12, in addition to the syllabus.
The board previously announced the test schedule for the CBSE Board exams in 2024. These exams for Class 10 and 12 are scheduled to take place between February 15 and April 10.
As outlined in the draft National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF), the curriculum for higher secondary education by CBSE will consist of 20% local content, 30% regional content, 30% national content, and 20% global content.
The Ministry of Education has confirmed that the NCF will be effective from the 2024 academic year. This framework intends to replace the traditional classification of subjects like science, commerce, and humanities with a system allowing students to choose from eight categories of courses.
A exact notification from CBSE stated that no overall division, distinction, or aggregate will be provided for the 2024 Class 10 and 12 board exams. Additionally, for students who have taken more than five subjects, the institution they apply to for further education or jobs will have the discretion to choose the best five subjects. CBSE will not calculate or disclose percentages.
