Question: 21 HOTSPOT A company uses Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) for authentication. The company synchronizes Azure AD with an on-premises Active Directory domain. The company reports that an Azure AD object fails to sync. You need to determine which objects are not syncing. Which troubleshooting steps should you use to diagnose the failure? wrong Answer: B Explanation: Text Description automatically generated Question: 22 A company manages a solution that uses Azure Functions. A function returns the following error: Azure Function Runtime is unreachable. $13$10 You need to troubleshoot the issue. What are two possible causes of the issue? A. The execution quota is full. B. The company did not configure a timer trigger. C. The storage account application settings were deleted. D. The function key was deleted. E. The storage account for the function was deleted. Answer: A,C,E Explanation: Two possible causes of the issue where a function returns the error āAzure Function Runtime is unreachableā are: C. The storage account application settings were deleted. E. The storage account for the function was deleted. According to Microsoft, this issue occurs when the Functions runtime canāt start. The most common reason for this is that the function app has lost access to its storage account. If that account is deleted or if the storage account application settings were deleted, your functions wonāt work https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-functions/functions-recover-storage-account Question: 23 A company has an ExpressRoute gateway between their on-premises site and Azure. The ExpressRoute gateway is on a virtual network named VNet1. The company enables FastPath on the gateway. You associate a network security group (NSG) with all of the subnets. Users report issues connecting to VM1 from the on-premises environment. VM1 is on a virtual network named VNet2. Virtual network peering is enabled between VNet1 and VNet2. You create a flow log named FlowLog1 and enable it on the NSG associated with the gateway subnet. You discover that FlowLog1 is not reporting outbound flow traffic. You need to resolve the issue with FlowLog1. What should you do? A. Enable FlowLog1 in a network security group associated with the subnet of VM1. B. Configure the FlowTimeoutInMinutes property on VNet2 to a non-null value. C. Configure the FlowTimeoutInMinutes property on VNet1 to a non-null value. D. Configure FlowLog1 for version 2. Answer: A Explanation: $13$10 According to 2, when FastPath is enabled on an ExpressRoute gateway, network traffic between your on-premises network and your virtual network bypasses the gateway and goes directly to virtual machines in the virtual network. Therefore, if you want to capture outbound flow traffic from VM1, you need to enable flow logging on an NSG associated with the subnet of VM1. Question: 24 HOTSPOT A company attempts to implement just-in-time (JIT) access for a virtual machine (VM) named VM1. The company reports that they are unable to complete the process. You need to implement JIT access and test the deployment. Which PowerShell cmdlets should you run? wrong Answer: A Explanation: Graphical user interface Description automatically generated with low confidence Question: 25 A company enables just-in-time (JIT) virtual machine (VM) access in Azure. An administrator observes a list of VMs on the Unsupported tab of the JIT VM access page in the Microsoft Defender for Cloud portal. You need to determine why some VMs are not supported for JIT VM access. What should you conclude? $13$10 A. The administrator is using the Microsoft Defender for Cloud free tier. B. The VMs were provisioned by using a classic deployment. C. The administrator does not have the SecurityReader role. D. The administrator does not have permissions to request JIT access to the VMs. Answer: B Explanation: JIT VM access is only supported for VMs that are deployed using the Azure Resource Manager (ARM) deployment model. VMs that are provisioned using the classic deployment model are not compatible with JIT VM access and will be displayed under the Unsupported tab of the JIT VM access page in the Microsoft Defender for Cloud portal. Question: 26 A company migrates an on-premises Windows virtual machine (VM) to Azure. An administrator enables backups for the VM by using the Azure portal. The company reports that the Azure VM backup job is failing. You need to troubleshoot the issue. Solution: Create a new manual backup in Backup center. Does the solution meet the goal? A. Yes B. No Answer: B Explanation: It is unlikely that creating a new manual backup in Backup center would resolve the issue of an Azure VM backup job failing after enabling backups for the VM through the Azure portal. To troubleshoot the issue, the administrator should first check the Azure VM backup job logs and identify the specific error message or code provided. This can help identify the underlying issue and the appropriate solution. Therefore, the solution mentioned in the question is incorrect and the answer is B. No. Reference: Troubleshoot Azure VM backup failures (Microsoft documentation) Question: 27 DRAG DROP You manage an Azure point-to-site (P2S) VPN deployment. All users connect regularly from their personal Windows computer through a P2S VPN by using certificate-based authentication. A new user attempts to establish a P25S VPN connection. $13$10 The user receives the following error message: A certificate could not be found that can be used with this Extensible Authentication protocol. (Error 798) You need to assists the user with resolving the certificate issue. What should you do? To answer, drag the appropriate locations to the correct task. Each location maybe used once, more than once, or not at all. You may need to drag the split bar between panes or scroll to view content. NOTE: Each correct selection is worth one point. wrong Answer: B Explanation: A) Provide the target certificate location for importing a Client Authentication key usage certificate file with the .pfx extension. Current UserPersonal This is the location where the client certificate should be installed on the userās personal Windows computer. The client certificate is generated from the self-signed root certificate and then exported with the .pfx extension. The client certificate is used to authenticate the user to the Azure point-to-site VPN gateway1. B) Provide the target certificate location for importing a Certificate Signing certificate key usage file with the .cer extension Local ComputerTrusted Root Certification Authorities This is the location where the root certificate should be installed on the userās personal Windows computer. The root certificate is a self-signed certificate that is used to sign the client certificates. The root certificate public key data is also uploaded to Azure point-to-site VPN configuration. The root certificate is exported with the .cer extension1. Question: 28 A company uses an Azure Virtual Network (VNet) gateway named VNetGW1. VNetGW1 connects to a partner site by using a site-to-site VPN connection with dynamic routing. The company observes that the VPN disconnects from time to time. You need to troubleshoot the cause for the disconnections. What should you verify? A. The partner's VPN device and VNetGW1 are configured using the same shared key. $13$10 B. The partner's VPN device is configured for one VPN tunnel per subnet pair. C. The public IP address of the partner's VPN device is configured in the local network gateway address space on VNetGW1. D. The partner's VPN device and VNetGW1 are configured with the same virtual network address space. Answer: B Explanation: To troubleshoot the cause for the VPN disconnections between VNetGW1 and the partner site, you should verify that the partnerās VPN device is configured for one VPN tunnel per subnet pair. Question: 29 A customer has an Azure Virtual Network named VNet1 that contains an internal standard SKU load balancer named LB1. The backend pool for LB1 includes the following virtual machines: VM1, VM2. The customer configures a rule named Rul1 to load balance incoming HTTPS requests for VM1 and VM2. Rule1 is associated with an HTTPS health probe. The path for the probe is set to /. The network adapters of VM1 and VM2 are associated with a network security named NSG1 that contains the following rules: You connect to https://VM1 and https://VM2 from VNet1. Attempts to connect using the front-end IP address of LB1 are failing. You need to resolve the issue. What should you do? A. Change the health probe associated with Rule1 to use HTT B. Add an NSG1 rule with the source set to VirtualNetwork. C. Change the health probe associated with Rule1 to use TC D. Add an NSG1 rule with the source set to AzureLoadBalancer. Answer: C Explanation: According to Microsoft, Azure Load Balancer health probes originate from the IP address 168.63.129.16 and must not be blocked for probes to mark your instance as up. The AzureLoadBalancer service tag identifies this source IP address in your network security groups and permits health probe traffic by default1. https://learn.microsoft.com/en- us/azure/load-balancer/load-balancer-custom-probe-overview $13$10 Question: 30 A company uses Azure AD Connect. The company plans to implement self-service password reset (SSPR). An administrator receives an error that password writeback could not be enabled during the Azure AD Connect configuration. The administrator observes the following event log error: Error getting auth token You need to resolve the issue. What should you do? A. Restart the Azure AD Connect service. B. Configure Azure AD Connect using a global administrator account that is not federated. C. Configure Azure AD Connect using a global administrator account with a password that is less than 256 characters. D. Disable password writeback and then enable password writeback using the Azure AD Connect configuration. Answer: A Explanation: The error message āError getting auth tokenā occurs when you specify an incorrect password for the global administrator account provided at the beginning of the Azure AD Connect installation process. To resolve this issue, you should check that you have specified the correct password for your global administrator account. If you have specified an incorrect password, update it and then restart the Azure AD Connect service Question: 31 A company has virtual machines (VMs) in the following Azure regions: ā West Central US ā Australia East The company uses ExpressRoute private peering to provide connectivity to VMs hosted on each region and on- premises services. The company implements global VNet peering between a VNet in each region. After configuring VNet peering, VM traffic attempts to use ExpressRoute private peering. You need to ensure that traffic uses global VNet peering instead of ExpressRoute private peering. The solution must preserve existing on-premises connectivity to Azure VNets. What should you do? A. Add a user-defined route to the subnets route table. $13$10 B. Add a filter to the on-premises routers. C. Add a second VNet to the virtual machines and configure VNet peering between the VNets. D. Disable the ExpressRoute peering connections for one of the regions. Answer: A Explanation: To ensure that traffic uses global VNet peering instead of ExpressRoute private peering, you should add a user-defined route to the subnets route table. According to 2, global VNet peering allows virtual networks across regions to communicate using private IP addresses as if they were in the same region. However, if there is an existing ExpressRoute private peering between two regions that also have global VNet peering enabled, traffic will prefer ExpressRoute over global VNet peering by default. To override this behavior and force traffic to use global VNet peering instead of ExpressRoute private peering for a specific subnet or virtual network gateway connection, you need to add a user-defined route with a next hop type of Virtual Network Peering. Question: 32 HOTSPOT A company deploys Azure Traffic Manager load balancing for an Azure App Service solution. Load balancing performance is showing a degraded status after deployment, and new HTTPS probes are failing to reach the Traffic Manager endpoints. You need to troubleshoot the probe failure. How should you complete the PowerShell script? $13$10 wrong Answer: A Explanation: Graphical user interface, text, application Description automatically generated Question: 33 A company plans to use an Azure PaaS service by using Azure Private Link service. The azure Private Link service and an endpoint have been configured. The company reports that the endpoint is unable to connect to the service. You need to resolve the connectivity issue. What should you do? A. Disable the endpoint network policies. B. Validate the VPN device. C. Approve the connection state. D. Disable the service network policies. Answer: C Explanation: To resolve the connectivity issue, you should approve the connection state. According to 1, Azure Private Link service requires manual approval of connection requests from private endpoints by default. You can approve or reject a connection request by using PowerShell cmdlets or Azure portal. Question: 34 A company migrates an on-premises Windows virtual machine (VM) to Azure. An administrator enables backups for the VM by using the Azure portal. The company reports that the Azure VM backup job is failing. You need to troubleshoot the issue. Solution: Install the VM guest agent by using administrative permissions. Does the solution meet the goal? A. Yes B. No $13$10 Answer: A Explanation: Yes, installing the VM guest agent by using administrative permissions could resolve the issue of the Azure VM backup job failing after enabling backups for the VM through the Azure portal. When backing up a virtual machine in Azure, it is necessary to install the VM guest agent to enable proper communication between the VM and the backup service. An administrative user account is required to install the agent. Therefore, the solution mentioned in the question is correct and the answer is A. Yes. Reference: Back up a virtual machine in Azure (Microsoft documentation) Question: 35 A company deploys ExpressRoute. The company reports that there is an autonomous system (AS) number mismatch. You'd be forgiven for losing track of where we're up to with Microsoft's AI chatbotāwhich, thanks to a partnership with OpenAI, is powered by the same technology you'll find driving ChatGPT and DALL-E. Originally called Bing Chat and acting as an extension of Microsoft's search engine, the bot has since been rebranded as Copilot. Copilot is quickly finding its way into Windows 11 and various other Microsoft products, and they now have a standalone app to make use of. It's essentially a spin-off of the Bing app on iOS and Android, with the main AI chatbot functions retained and some of the other Bing extras (like news and shopping deals). Microsoft first launched the app on Android, but shipped the iOS version three days later. If you're curious about testing out Copilot's generative AI capabilities on your iPhone or Android device, here's how to get started with the app and what you need to know about how it works. First steps with the Copilot appYou can grab Copilot free of charge from the Google Play Store on Android or the iOS App Store, and you can get started right after installing it: You don't even need to sign in with a Microsoft account, though if you don't you'll be limited to five queries per day, and you won't have access to some of the more advanced features (including AI image generation). There are a few options when it comes to interacting with the bot. You can tap on one of the suggested prompts, type out a question or prompt in the text box at the bottom of the screen, or tap the microphone button (bottom right) and speak directly to Copilot (and get spoken answers in return). If you use the voice option, the mic icon changes to a keyboard icon for when you need to go back to text prompts. Copilot puts generative AI at your fingertips. Credit: Lifehacker You'll also see a camera icon at the bottom of the interfaceātap this, and you're able to upload a photo from your phone (or take a new one) for Copilot to analyze. You might want to ask something about what's in the picture, for example, or produce a new image based on the one that you've supplied. There are no settings to speak of inside the app, but you can tap the three dots (top right) to start new subjects and configure the "tones" of the chatbot. These tones let you choose a balance between creativity and precision, so make your choice accordingly based on whether you want the responses to be as imaginative as possible or as factually correct as possible (and as always, don't believe everything an AI tells you). Text generationOne of the primary ways you can use Copilotāas with ChatGPT and Google Bardāis to generate text with it. If you want to get creative with Copilot, you might want to ask it to compose a poem on the Topic of your choice, and you can even specify the form, style, tone, and length of the poem if you want to. There are more business-like applications of the technology, too: Copilot will compose an email to your boss, or a pitch to a client, or a summary of a concept for you. One of the ways in which these generative AI bots can be handy is in explaining difficult subjects in simple termsāand you're also able to ask follow-up questions if you need something clarifying further, or there's a particular point you're not sure on. You can get the app to produce text in all kinds of ways. Credit: Lifehacker Copilot can also work with text that you paste into it: You can ask for critical comments on your own writing, for instance, or ask to make a block of text more concise or more flamboyant in terms of its language. Note that there's a copy icon at the end of each answer as well, so if you need to copy the text and paste it somewhere else, you can. One huge perk of Copilot over ChatGPT is free access to GPT-4, a more powerful successor to the GPT-3.5 model. To use it, tap the Use GPT-4 toggle switch at the top of your chats. Just keep in mind the responses might be somewhat slower, and the results you get will generally be more natural and insightful, because they're trained on more data. Search, images, and moreCopilot goes way beyond text generation. You can, for example, ask it the same kinds of questions you might put into a search engine: Ask it for party game ideas, or for a travel itinerary for a particular city, or for products that it recommends, or for advice on how to achieve a particular task. If Copilot looks up something on the web, you'll see website citations at the end of its response. You can also try queries you might pose to Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistantāwhile also bearing in mind that inaccuracies can creep in, even if Copilot is referencing the web. One genuine use for Copilot and other generative AI engines is to remember a word that's on the tip of your tongueāif you describe the word you're almost recalling, and put it in a sentence, Copilot will usually get the one you need. Copilot can also produce images and search the web. Credit: Lifehacker Image generation is built into Copilot too, so you can simply ask it to create pictures of anything you like from text prompts: Cats in hot air balloons, an alien cityscape, an exploding cup of coffee, or whatever you need. The image creation capabilities are the same as we've already seen on Bing, and you'll be given four variations to pick fromātap on any of them to see a larger preview. Microsoft hasn't gone on record about its Copilot app yet, but as far as I can see, you're limited to 30 inputs per conversation if you sign into the app. It's possible that quotas will vary over time, as Microsoft manages demand for its powerful generative AI toolsāwhich for now at least, you can use free of charge. Copilot is an AI-powered intelligent chatbot that you can now find on almost every product and service that Microsoft has to offer, and it's a new digital assistant that appears in the Taskbar of Windows 11 that replaces Cortana. Microsoft has created Copilot to assist and make you more productive using simple and natural prompts. However, the capabilities will vary depending on the application. For example, on Windows 11 or the web, you can ask any question about virtually any Topic using natural language, and the chatbot AI will be able to provide a comprehensive answer. However, on Windows 11, the chatbot can help you change system settings and other tasks without having to drill into different screens to configure a specific feature. You can't get answers on apps like Paint and Photos, but you can use the technology to perform tasks, such as creating images with AI and removing or blurring the background of a photo with a single click. On Microsoft Edge, you also have access to Copilot, but unlike the version on Windows 11 and the web, you can access features like Compose to help you spark creativity in creating content and more. It's important to note that when I talk about Copilot, I'm referring to the genuine product and not to a single integration (such as Copilot on Windows 11) since the same chatbot AI with more or less capabilities is available across different products, such as Windows 11, Microsoft Paint and Photos apps, Microsoft Edge, Snipping Tool, and on the web. In this how-to guide, I'll share some interesting things you can do with Copilot. Of course, this is in addition to the chatbot's ability to get comprehensive answers to virtually any question. Microsoft Copilot skills you have to tryOn Windows 11 and across many of the different Microsoft products, you can use the AI assistant to help you tackle your daily tasks with ease and efficiency, boosting your productivity, unlocking your creativity, and enhancing your understanding of information. Change system settings on Windows 11Although it's available with limited capabilities, Copilot can help you manage the system settings with a simple prompt. Instead of opening the Settings app and configuring a specific feature, you can ask the chatbot to change certain settings. To change system settings, open Copilot (Windows key + C) from the Taskbar, click on the box, compose, and submit the prompt: Since this feature is still limited, you can ask to change any configuration. If the assistant can't complete the task, you may receive written instructions on proceeding with the changes. As with any technology, this skill is expected to Boost over time. In the future, new advances should allow the assistant to change more settings and perform more complex tasks. Launch applications on Windows 11If you're already interacting with Copilot, instead of reaching for the Start menu, you can ask the assistant to launch virtually any app you have installed on the computer. To launch an app, open Copilot from the Taskbar, click on the box, compose, and submit the prompt: For example,Ā "Open Word." Since the chatbot can make more sense of natural language, you can use different variants of the action as long the action is clear. For instance, launch Excel, start Microsoft Edge, open Firefox, etc.Ā (You can also have to confirm the prompt to launch the app.) Use voice to interact with CopilotAnother Copilot skill you're probably not using is voice. Instead of typing the question or the action you want, it's possible to use natural language with voice. To use voice to interact with chatbot AI, openĀ Copilot, click the microphone button, and ask a question for Copilot using voice. An interesting part of the feature is that Copilot will answer questions using voice. Image search on Windows 11You're not limited to text and voice prompts. You can also upload images to Copilot to learn more information. To upload an image to Copilot, drag and drop the image into the search prompt, compose the question you want to know about the image, and click theĀ "Submit"Ā button. Alternatively, you can click theĀ "Add an image"Ā button in the bottom-left corner of the prompt box, paste the link to the image, or use the available option to select an image from your computer. Once you receive the answer, you can continue asking additional questions. Remove background and create AI images in PaintCopilot is not only available from the Taskbar. Microsoft is integrating it into many of its products, such as in the Paint and Photos app. The company isn't adding a Copilot option per se in the Microsoft Paint app. Instead, it's building AI features that use the Copilot technologies. For example, it's now possible to remove the background of an image with a single click, and there's a feature known as "Cocreator" that allows you to create pictures with AI. To remove the background of an image, open Microsoft Paint from the Start menu and open an image from theĀ FileĀ menu (Ctrl + O). Click theĀ "Remove background"Ā button from the "Image" tools, and the feature will scan the picture and remove the background automatically. If you only want to remove part of the background, use the selection tool, select the area, and click theĀ "Remove background"Ā button from the "Image" tools. To create an image with Cocreator, pen Microsoft Paint from the Start menu and click theĀ "Cocreator"Ā button. In the prompt box, compose a description of the image you want to create. The secret to using this feature is to provide as many details as possible to get a more accurate result. Use the available settings to choose the style for the image. The options include Charcoal, Ink Sketch, Watercolor, Oil Painting, Digital Art, Photorealistic, Anime, and Pixel Art. Once you're done with the description and selecting the style, click the "Create" button. The AI will create four variants of the image that you can choose from to add to your Paint project. It's important to note that you must be signed with your Microsoft account in Pain to use the feature. Also, since running the AI model costs energy and money, you only get 50 tokens to create images. Background blur, remove, replace in PhotosThe Photos app also integrates several AI features, including the ability to remove the background of an image, which is similar to the feature available in the Paint app. It's also possible to add blur to the background of a picture, and you can replace the background entirely. To blur the background of a picture, open the Photos app, right-click an image, and choose the "Edit" option. In the editor, click the "Background" button and the "Blur" option. When performing this action, the feature will scan the image to identify and blur the background. You can also use the available setting to control the blur intensity. The brush tools allow you to blur the image manually. To remove the background of a picture, open the Photos app, right-click an image, and choose the "Edit" option. In the editor, click the "Background" button and the "Remove" option. When performing this action, the feature will scan and remove the background automatically. To change the image background, open the Photos app, right-click an image, and choose the "Edit" option. In the editor, click the "Background" button and the "Replace" option. When performing this action, the feature will scan, separate the main objects, and replace the background with a solid color, which you can change to any value. The brush tools allow you to remove the background manually. Summarize web pages with Copilot on EdgeOn Windows 11, Microsoft Edge also has a dedicated Copilot experience, which, among other functionalities, is capable of summarizing web pages to make the content faster to digest while doing away with the jargon. To summarize content with Copilot, openĀ Microsoft EdgeĀ and open the website with the content to analyze. Once on the page, click theĀ "Copilot"Ā button from the top right, and in the prompt box, request the chatbot to summarize the content. For example,Ā "Summarize this page." Since the integration of Copilot on Windows 11 is heavily tied to Microsoft Edge, you can also openĀ "Copilot"Ā from the Taskbar and ask the assistant to summarize the web page. For example, you can query the chatbot toĀ "Summarize the current tab open on Microsoft Edge." After you complete the steps, the chatbot will analyze the page and create a summary of the content. Compose content with Copilot on EdgeThe version of Copilot on Microsoft Edge also comes with "Compose," which allows you to quickly create different types of content (such as emails, articles, ideas, or paragraphs). You will find this feature helpful in crafting professional emails, cover letters, and similar content. To compose content with Copilot, open Microsoft Edge, click theĀ "Copilot"Ā button from the top right, and click theĀ "Compose"Ā tab. In the "Write about" section, type the details of the content to create. For example,Ā "Write a cover letter for an AI research position at Google, and highlight that I have over five years of experience working on Microsoft." Finally, click theĀ "Generate draft"Ā button and preview the result at the bottom of the page. Once you complete the steps, copy the content to the word editor to further tweak the text, check for mistakes, and make it yours. Organize tabs on Microsoft EdgeAs part of the Copilot capabilities available on Microsoft Edge, you can also use the chatbot to help you organize your tabs in the browser. To organize your tabs, open Microsoft Edge, and when you have a bunch of tabs open, click the "Copilot" button and type the following prompt: "Organize my tabs."Ā Finally, review groups by clicking the "Group tabs" button. Also, you can use theĀ "Turn on vertical tabs"Ā prompt to enable vertical tabs. Extract text from images with AI on Snipping ToolThe Snipping Tool also includes AI enhancements that allow you to extract text from screenshots. To extract text from images, open the Snipping Tool andĀ take a screenshotĀ of a picture with the content you want to extract. Click the "Take Actions" button to analyze the image to detect any available text. The feature will deliver you theĀ "Copy all text"Ā option to copy a piece of text in the image, or you can select, right-click the selection, and choose theĀ "Copy text"Ā option. Once in the clipboard, you can paste the text on any application. In addition to extracting text, the Snipping Tool can also help you redact sensitive information, such as email addresses and phone numbers. You can useĀ these stepsĀ to learn more about the AI features available with this app. Access Copilot on the webFinally, since Microsoft refers to Copilot as its AI technology, you probably didn't know it's possible to access the chatbot from the dedicated web application. To access Copilot on the web, you have to open Copilot.Microsoft.com and sign in with your Microsoft account. In this experience, you can interact with chatbot AI virtually in the same way you can on Windows 11, Microsoft Edge, and Bing Chat. The only difference is that you won't be able to change system settings on Windows 11 and won't have access to other specific features like Compose and Insights on Microsoft Edge. If you don't want to access the chatbot from the side panel on Windows 11, you can install the web version as a web app on your computer. To install Copilot as a web app, open the chatbot website, click on theĀ "Settings and more"Ā (three dots) button, chooseĀ "Apps,"Ā and select theĀ "install this site as an app"Ā option. Finally, click theĀ "Install"Ā button to use Copilot (web) and a regular app. Copilot on Microsoft Shopping (extra)Furthermore, you can also use Copilot to shop online since the company has also integrated its chatbot into its Microsoft Shopping experience. When shopping online, you can interact with Copilot to speed up finding products or the perfect gift for that person using a starting query and continuing with follow-up questions to help you narrow down ideas to find the best product at the best price. You can use these instructions to useĀ Copilot on Microsoft Shopping. Microsoft is also working on bringing plugins to extend the functionality of Copilot, but it's still a work in progress, and it's not yet available (at least not to me). You can think of plugins as gateways allowing the chatbot to interface with other third-party services. For instance, you may one day be able to ask Copilot to book a hotel room or order a pizza, and then the chatbot will complete the process automatically. More resourcesFor more helpful articles, coverage, and answers to common questions about Windows 10 and Windows 11, visit the following resources: Microsoftās latest AI chatbot, Microsoft Copilot, has just been made available to get for iOS and iPadOS. If you feel the need for another AI tool to tinker with, both can be downloaded from the App Store for free right now. Microsoft Copilot (which was originally known as Bing Chat) is very similar to ChatGPT, and the other chatbots that litter the web. You put in your prompt ā whether that's a question or a request for help penning an email or summary ā and it'll spit out what's required. Copilot can also generate images from text due to an integration with the text-to-image generator, DALL-E3. Interestingly, Copilot is capable of running GPT-4, which is shorthand for generative pretrained transformer. It's the software that allows the AI to generate human-like responses, and to accept both text and image inputs. For reference, the free version of ChatGPT currently makes use of GPT-3.5. This isnāt the only difference between the two. Microsoft Copilot limits how many responses a user can make in a thread to around thirty. It'll also not allow access to image generation without creating an account. However, while testing both out it seemed Copilot was willing to deliver far longer answers to each question I offered. ChatGPT seemed to offer more human-like answers and felt less like it was just searching the web for responses. Currently, it appears Copilot does not save any threads for you and you are unable to upload files other than photos. However, this is a vast improvement over ChatGPT which makes analyzing a photo far more complex than it needs to be. I didnāt find much difference in speed when using either app. Both Copilot and ChatGPT were fast in their responses, although ChatGPT was slightly quicker. Finally, I asked both to compose an email to a distant friend asking to catch up. Microsoft Copilot responded with a template filled with options to help personalize the response from me, meanwhile, ChatGPT didn't offer alternative options but had a better composition. It seems there are benefits to both apps at the moment, but there is nothing that would help to push one ahead of the other on Appleās products. The biggest hindrance for Copilot is the limit on responses, which may be changed in the future if the app sees more use. More from Tom's GuideQ. I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS. My car goes through a lot of oil. I am basically adding 5-10 quarts of high mileage oil between filter changes. I have read articles and watched videos about this issue. Besides changing the PCV a few times I have not done anything else. What is your opinion of these cars. I was told by the dealership that these engines have a lifetime warranty as long as the engine is clean inside. A. There is a technical service bulletin that has to do with connecting rod failure on many models. The oil consumption issue is also common, but that warranty is likely expired. The first step needs to start with an oil consumption test performed by the dealer and documented. Then at that point, an engine flush needs to be performed to clean up the piston rings. Then is this doesnāt help, then the engine may get replaced. The technical service bulletin provides warranty coverage for engine long block repair or replacement regarding engine damage or malfunction from connecting rod bearing wear has been extended to 10 years or 120,000miles from the date of original retail delivery or date of first use, whichever occurs first. Warranty coverage is valid for original and subsequent owners. The dealer may be able to work with the Hyundai corporate office to help with out of warranty repairs. Q. The horn in my old Buick often does not work. The blower fan also is not working, when the horn does not work, the heater does not work on any setting (defrost or vents) and the radio/heater/clock display goes out. Are these related issues? I do plan to get it to my mechanic but was hoping for some input from you prior. A. The horn is likely a separate issue, but the blower fan and heater readout may be related. The clock could also be related to the horn. The horn and clock have power when the car is off. The fan and heater display do not have power when the key is off. At this point, the issues need to be looked at as small groups, using a wiring diagram and carful observation of what is going on under the dash. Sorry there is not an easy fix on this, just time and diagnostic troubleshooting. Q. Is there one leather cleaner for seats that you prefer over others? A. I have generally had good luck with Meguiarās products (no they do not pay me) and the Ultimate Leather Detailer is a good product. Also, Griots also makes good products that I will use from time to time. Q. I have a 2004 Acura TSX, original owner, I was one of the first people to purchase the car at my dealer in April 2003. I love the car; it has 173,000 miles and runs great as I maintain it and service it regularly. I only bring it to the Acura dealer for service and have done so since purchase. I have always put premium gasoline 93 octane in the car and still do today. I believe this was the recommendation. My question is, should I still use premium grade gasoline in the car or is it okay to use a lower grade such as 89 or 87? A. In that year Acura, 91 octane is what is required. Unlike many vehicles that have a higher-octane recommendation (not a requirement) you can sacrifice a little performance for economy. Since Acura does not deliver you that option, I would stick to higher octane fuel. Q. I have a 2020 Toyota RAV4 hybrid. I am totally confusion on coolant change intervals, it seems all over the map. The plate on inside of hood says to change inverter coolant for first time at 150,000 miles. To me that seems excessive. Also, I was given a price from the dealer for approximately $530 for flush and fill for radiator and inverter coolant, which also seems excessive. Can you clear this up? A. According to the service table that I use (which is directly from Toyota) the engine coolant providing it is in good condition (not low, dirty and still protecting the engine to -34) is good for 100,000 miles and the invertor coolant is good for 150,000 miles. As for time I would convert this to each 10,000 miles equals one year. Initial replacement for engine coolant is at 100,000 miles/120 months and to perform the service again every 50,000 miles/60 months thereafter. The Hybrid Drive coolant Initial replacement is at 150,000 miles/180 months. Then preform the service again every 50,000 miles/60 months thereafter. Could you do it sooner, sure, is it necessary not according to the people who made the car. Q. As the wintry weather is coming and there are already threats of heavy snow on the weather forecasts, I see putting their carās wipers up in the air. What are your thoughts on this? A. Many drivers will stand the wiper arms up to prevent the blades from sticking to the windshield. I have a couple of problems with this, the wiper could get ice on it and in a strong wind, smack the windshield and may crack the window. The other issue is you are overextending the spring that keeps the wiper properly tensioned on the windshield. Also, I have read hundreds of vehicle ownerās manual, and I never seem a mention of putting the wiper arms in the āservice-positionā during inclement weather.
