On Empire’s home planet of Trantor, anyone—including the Cleons—is subject to “memory audits” whenever it becomes necessary to remove certain bits of knowledge from their brains. This tinkering becomes increasingly slippery as the season continues; how will you know if someone’s messed with your memory if they remove the very memory of them messing with it?
But Foundation’s biggest mind-fuck comes with its exploration of Gaal (Lou Llobell) and Salvor (Leah Harvey)’s burgeoning psychic powers, and the revelation that not only is there an entire planet populated by gifted “Mentallics,” also known as “Sighted,” led by the mysterious Tellem Bond (Rachel House), there’s also a powerful psychic warrior, glimpsed in one of Gaal’s visions, who’ll cause havoc across the galaxy in the coming years. Season one of Foundation showed Hari Seldon (Jared Harris) predicting the future using his math-based “psychohistory”—and while that’s still part of season two, mysticism now has a much bigger role in the story.
The RF’s Graduate Student Employee Health Plan (GSEHP) provides hospital, medical, and prescription drug benefits to eligible fellows and graduate student employees. When you enroll in the GSEHP, you are automatically enrolled in the Dental Care and Vision Care plans.
The GSEHP is a preferred provider organization, or PPO, plan. In a PPO plan, hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers agree to join the plan’s provider network. These in-network providers, which include SUNY Student Health Centers, agree to charge reduced fees to plan participants, and the plan pays a higher percentage of the cost of care received from these providers. The plan allows you to visit any providers you choose, but visiting in-network providers can save you money and the time associated with filing claims for reimbursement. For most types of care received in-network, you pay only a copayment when you receive services (within plan limits).
Coverage will begin on the first day of your appointment if you enroll during Open Enrollment. If you are appointed after the Open Enrollment period, coverage will begin on the first day of appointment as long as you enroll within 45 days of your appointment. Coverage is termed after the 28 day health extension under the POMCO plan.
If you are transferring to the Research Foundation payroll from the State payroll, making us aware of this change will help us prevent a lapse in your coverage.
Each year Research Foundation has an open enrollment period. During this time you may enroll if you have not previously done so, cancel your coverage or change your individual coverage to family coverage without a qualifying event.
When you are initially hired and/or become eligible, you will enroll for most benefits through the Benefit System, which allows you to choose the benefits you and your family need.
The Benefit System provides a summary of your current benefit elections and general information on all UBF benefits, including plan descriptions. You can also use the library section of the Benefit System to find:
Benefit elections for medical, dental, vision, and flexible spending accounts are effective until December 31 of the calendar year that you enrolled, provided you continue to meet eligibility requirements. Because these are section 125 benefits, you cannot change these options (medical, dental, vision, health FSA) any time during the calendar year unless there is an IRS qualified “life event”.
While you are generally only allowed to change your benefits elections during the open enrollment period each year, certain life events provide an exception. Those life events allow you to change your benefits elections in the middle of the plan year if certain requirements are met.
The following are examples of types of life events that may allow you to change your benefit elections during a plan year:
Please notify the UBF Benefits Department immediately if you experience any life event changes so that they can ensure there is no interruption or error in your benefits. You will have 30 days from the date of the life event to make the change.
UBF annual open enrollment is offered in late fall of each year and gives you the opportunity to review and select the same or different benefits using the Benefit System. You will be notified in advance of the Open Enrollment period.
While CBD tends to be well-tolerated by most people, it can cause the following side effects:
For people who turn to CBD for migraine relief, Dr. Cho cautions that it may not be a long-term solution—at least not at the same dose. “Some studies show a tolerance issue with decreased efficacy at the same dose over time,” she says. Dr. Strachan adds that taking CBD over the long term may lead to other symptoms, such as mood fluctuations and memory loss.
With those side effects in mind, it’s important to note that while long-term use of conventional migraine treatments is linked to medication overuse headaches in approximately 15% of people with migraines, research has yet to suggest CBD does the same .
The 2018 Farm Bill made hemp-derived CBD products containing less than 0.3% THC by dry weight legal. Currently, access to CBD varies depending on the state and their adoption of the Farm Bill. In some states, CBD is easily available to purchase and possess, while others make it less accessible or largely available online.
The World Anti-Doping Agency advises against the use of over-the-counter CBD products for athletes due to manufacturing and regulation risks that could lead to THC contamination.
Over-the-counter CBD products are neither FDA-approved nor under any medical regulatory compliance, meaning there’s no way to 100% ensure their safety and legality, says Dr. Cho. There’s also concern when it comes to the reliability and accuracy of a product’s dosage and purity listed on its label, she says.
While not required, many CBD products come with a certificate of analysis (COA). This certificate guarantees third-party testing, meaning a third-party laboratory tested the product to ensure accurate potency and that the product is free of harmful contaminants, including pesticides, molds and heavy metals. Some COAs can be viewed by scanning a QR code on a product while others are available online through the specific company’s website. If you can’t find a product’s COA, you may request it by contacting the company before making a purchase.

This book is the product of more than 400 scholars and policy experts from across the conservative movement and around the country. Contributors include former elected officials, world-renowned economists, and veterans from four presidential Administrations.
This is an agenda prepared by and for conservatives who will be ready on Day One of the next Administration to save their country. The Heritage Foundation is once again facilitating this work, but as their dozens of partners and hundreds of authors will attest, this book is the work of the entire conservative movement.
WESTLAKE, Ohio -- The Carolyn L. Farrell Foundation for Brain Health will be honoring both those who receive and provide compassion for others at “Inspire Joy: A Celebration of Care,” according to a exact news release.
The celebration/fundraiser will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Avon Oaks Country Club, 323400 Detroit Road in Avon.
The news release reflected on the 12 years that the foundation “has been providing programming to inspire and Excellerate lives of those challenged with brain health issues.”
“This is an important event,” noted Executive Director Jerry Devis, “because the foundation eases the stigma associated with brain health issues, and they encourage positive life experiences that people may still enjoy despite diagnoses like dementia.
“Money raised by the benefit provides unique opportunities and services for individuals in the community that strongly promote inclusive socialization and joyful experiences.”
The information from the organization emphasized that dragonflies symbolize happiness, hope and love. They will decorate the hall to remind donors and those they benefit.
The evening will be a joy itself, with an open bar and dinner. Entertainment includes pianist Ruth Williams and violinist Nadine Kodysz prior to dinner and a DJ from “On the Mic Entertainment” from Canton for post-dinner dancing.
There will also be a silent auction and a live auction.
The foundation’s annual celebration “honors the past and current work of the foundation and the hundreds of people with dementia/Alzheimer’s and their families served by the foundation since its founding in 2011,” the news release notes.
