About the Author ...

Douglas Charles Ogilvie, T.C. (A.T.C.), B.A., M.Ed.Admin. (Hons) (N.E.), Ph.D. (Qld). F.Q.I.E.A., F.A.C.E.A., began life, on the morning of 9/2/1930, as an underclass Australian country-boy and later worked as a professional educator from 1949 to 1995. Beginning with a Primary Teachers' Certificate from Armidale Teachers' College, he later graduated to work in N.S.W. high schools, Lismore Teachers' College and then The University of Queensland. During this period he is reputed to have enacted numerous other roles, with varying degrees of imperfection, including boy scout, school cadet, husband, father, grandfather, adulterer, J.P., criminal, communalist, church warden, wine bibber, glutton, lover, apexian, quickcat sailor, motor cyclist and passive pot-smoker.

As an academic, his specialised field of research was the theory and practice of educational administration, especially in terms of eclectic organisation theory, including theories of democratic leadership, organisation development, group dynamics and holistic knowledge, or wisdom, with particular reference to anarchism, syncreticism and gnosticism. During this experience, he learnt that the modern university is not a community of philosophers in search of the Truth for the common good. Instead, it is organised and managed as:

  • a think tank for a global political-economy that benefits some, in terms of money, status and/or authority, at the expense of others,
  • a degree factory for training that political-economy's professional and managerial elite,
  • a divide and control mechanism whereby reputable knowledge is separated into, and limited to, discrete subject disciplines, multi-disciplines and specialised fields of application,
  • a reward and penalty mechanism, that is used to legitimate the essential characteristics of a millennia-long status-quo; hypocritical reasoning, illegitimately legitimated rules, managed corporate bodies, ranks of relative merit and acts of socio-economic engineering,
  • a socialising institution that is used to perpetuate the hegemony known as Mammon, or Maya, wherein abstract ideas, such as the Commonwealth of Australia, the Family of Nations and the Lord God of Israel, are reified and legalised, and deified, as if they are superhuman persons.

On retiring from the education profession, he graduated to work, with others of the "meek, messianic, brotherhood", as a full-time revolutionary, in the service of God the Mother. In this role, members advocate and enact both eclectic wisdom and consensual democracy, and are opposed by adversaries who preach and practise some version of corporate managerialism, either legalised or illegalised, and/or scholarly discipline, either secular or religious.
Doug's home base is in the foothills of the Mt. Warning caldera, at Bilambil Village, 2486, where the e-mail address is dogilvie@coolgold.com.au, the telephone number is 0755-909825 and the "castle" is under electronic and, occasionally, photographic and psychic, surveillance.

The Author's Credo
What the Earth needs now, as we and She enter the apocalyptic-and-redemption period of global evolution, which is the time for spiritual metamorphosis and truthful revelation, is the clarification and implementation of an ancient idea:
"Personal self-sovereignty and interpersonal generosity, for the wellbeing of all, including the All who lives."

The practical implications of a critical number of us, from all occupations and nations, agreeing that we believe in this gnostic definition of "universal love", as our principal ideal, are revolutionary. The consequential revolution, of global proportions, is destined to be unifying and liberating for some, albeit deadly and divisive for others. Belief in this guiding principle, and dedication to its practical implications, signifies membership of the meek branch of the evolving human race, and so marks, in the frontal lobes, those of us who are destined, in the immediate future, to inherit the earth, by taking it over from the unmeek men who, as the social engineers of church, state and multi-state, have been historically dominant.

The Question
The most important, and hence the most pragmatic, question that we can be asking ourselves each day is remarkably simple, and can be posed and answered, by virtually anybody, without assistance of the patronising type from anybody else: "What can I do here and now, personally and interpersonally, to make Life better, on earth, in terms of self-sovereignty and generosity, than it was yesterday and the day before?" Any unrelated question merely leads the poser into tempting diversions, trivial pursuits, information overload and, eventually, a dead end.

Half of those who read these words will dismiss them as idealistic crap and will carry on today, in their current cliques, as they were carrying on yesterday. This is as it must be. Such conservative persons have always had an essential part to play in the evolving story of Life, on earth. The other half will recognise that this describes what they are already doing, or would like to be doing, in their own particular way. Life's great need today is for those of us who belong to this half of the human genus to recognise our common identity, or spiritual kinship, as men and women who, despite countless personal differences, in talent, inadequacy, history, location, appearance, neediness and preference, share a common belief in adult self-sovereigty and interpersonal generosity. When a critical number of us recognise that this allegiance is more important than any other we feel, for race, spouse, family, nation, location, church or culture, and begin to live accordingly, the better world, which some of us call Paradise on earth, will begin, and this will be astonishingly soon.

It is high time that we who are helpful individuals recognised who, what, how, when, where and why we are and stopped allowing ourselves to be divided and over-ruled, world-wide, by corporate masters. The collective strength that we need for succeeding in this global enterprise can only come with the unified diversity that some, such as Kropotkin and Bakunin, have described as consensual anarchy among men and women of good will.

Because we are unique individuals, the attributes we can each bring to this global project are personally unique but, in association, they are all equally useful for getting the big job done and for enjoying the bliss that comes with collective success. In this transnational fellowship there is no person, no talent, no place, no thing, no book, no sexual gender and no special interest that is more, or less, valuable, or loveable, than any other. For example, it may be that only an elect group of wise old men, who can reflect on an exceptionally-wide variety of personal experiences, of success, failure, joy and suffering, will understand the logic of this, or some similar, gospel well enough to be able break the language code that has been used, for millennia, to entrap generic man here in Hell, on earth; both those who belong here, in this social reality, and those of us who don't, and so, as social misfits, can smell the stink. However this particular talent does not make the code-busters any better than any of our fellow travellers who will struggle to understand the meaning of the words but, with warm heart and generous disposition, will make equally valuable contributions to the big breakout that must be made, and will share equally with us in the fruits of collective redemption. They may not be with us at the beginning but, because of an innate sense of compassion, or fair play, they will not interfere against us in the struggle, and will be wholeheartedly with us by the end.

This idea, "We belong to the universal family of the helpful individuals", summarises the revolutionary faith that, because of its practical implications, frightens the fluids out of, and attracts the hostility of, unmeek men. As illustrated by Murdoch, Packer, O'Reilly, Farrakhan, John Paul, Annan, Howard and Suharto, such men control, paternalistically, by means of numerous underlings, including most of the figureheads and enforcers they hire, both male and female, the corporate bodies and other meritocracies that make up the rival reality of Mammon.

This is the first of the absolute, or radical, differences that need to be recognised, by anybody who would like to cut through the conventional crap, solve the human mystery and survive the apocalyptic event that signals our breakthrough to the rest of the ever-living Cosmos.
